David and I planned a trip to take a car up to Utah for his sister that she had him pick up for her. So we had to travel up separately. I took the truck up early Friday morning so that we would have a vehicle to travel back home in and then David drove the car for his sister up later after work.
Passing through Jacob's Lake, Arizona on our way to Utah, the kids and I stopped at the campground for a little break. We love it there. So pretty and the perfect weather this time of year! We were so happy that we found a place to stop at that didn't have any rain because one third of the trip was down pouring so hard with low visibility. The other third of the trip was heavy rain but with much better visibility. Thankfully, the last part of the trip was good clear weather. One a side note: I was so worried about David traveling up alone late at night and with bad rainy and foggy weather. Turns out, that lucky little bugger didn't get one rain drop at all on his way up!! Its ok. I'm not too jealous of that. I was just so glad he drove up to us safely.
Saturday morning, we started the day by running some errands and then going with my siblings out to go shooting and to let the kids ride their atv that I took up there. It was a good time!
I told David that I needed to go shooting this trip or I was going to lose my mind with all of the stress I carry around this month. He must have believed me because he made the plans to take me! Let me say, it felt so great for me to shoot the double barrel shotgun, the SKS, the 9mm, the Colt 45 and a couple other guns. I was only disappointed because I didnt get to shoot the Mini 14 this trip. :'(
My mother in law told David about a parade in Cedar City later that day so we took the kiddos to it. Ethan LOVED the tractors!!! :) Then we went out to lunch at Costa Vida with some of the siblings.
Later on Saturday, David and I made a dutch oven meal and met up with our siblings at the Canyon Park for a small gathering for Brey's upcoming 5th birthday on the 19th of September. She loved hanging out with her aunts and uncles and Grandma Allen.
Some of the Stroud/Allen bunch!!
I wish, wish, wish that we had a place close by us like this in Queen Creek. The kids love this Canyon Park! We have to go there every time we make it to Utah. Such a fun/pretty place to hang out in Cedar City!
Little J.D is the sweetest! Love my little nephew!! This is him playing with me as we were saying bye to him at his house Sunday morning.
Hard saying goodbye to that beautiful place!
